Monocef is an antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin group, which is used to treat bacterial infections in your body. It is effective in infections of the brain (e.g., meningitis), lungs (e.g., pneumonia), ear, urinary tract, skin & soft tissues, bones & joints, blood and heart.

Consuming alcohol with Monocef does not cause any harmful side effects. warnings Pregnancy SAFE IF PRESCRIBED Monocef is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby. warnings Breastfeeding CAUTION Monocef should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body. warnings Driving UNSAFE Monocef may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. warnings Kidney SAFE IF PRESCRIBED Monocef is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Monocef is recommended. However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. warnings Liver CAUTION Monocef should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Monocef may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Dose adjustment of Monocef is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
